Qualifications are made up of courses. Some universities call these papers. Each course is numbered using six digits.
Level
The fourth number of the course code shows the level of the course. For example, in course 219206, the fourth number is a 2, so it is a 200-level course (usually studied in the second year of full-time study).
Credits
Each course is worth a number of credits. You combine courses (credits) to meet the total number of credits needed for your qualification.

- 1 Explain basic scientific concepts involved in climate systems
- 2 Describe the fundamental consequences of climate change on natural phenomena and environments at molecular and ecospheric scales.
- 3 Describe how energy influences natural phenomena on the earth’s surface and how climate change will impact and influence future energy requirements.
- 4 Evaluate the validity of concepts presented in popular science articles and connect new evidence for climate change in terms of the scientific principles involved.
- 5 Communicate to a general audience how scientific observations and measurements made in our biosphere during the past 200 years provide evidence of climate change and other anthropogenic impacts on the earth’s biosphere
